New Superpowers

I heard V said this morning:
Time is running out.
Prepare to get into your designated positions.
I noted that the 50th G7 summit is coming in two weeks: of 8 nations instead of 7.
V reminded me what happened 124 years ago, also from Wiki:
The Eight-Nation Alliance was a multinational military coalition that invaded northern China in 1900 during the Boxer Rebellion, with the stated aim of relieving the foreign legations in Beijing, which was being besieged by the popular Boxer militiamen, who were determined to remove foreign imperialism in China. The allied forces consisted of about 45,000 troops from the eight nations of Germany, Japan, Russia, Britain, France, the United States, Italy, and Austria-Hungary.
Aligning with the Boxers, the Qing government attacked and killed foreign missionaries and nationals and Chinese Christians across Northern China in 1899 and 1900. The Eight-Nation Alliance then went on a rampage to pillage Beijing and Northern China, torching ancient imperial palaces in the Forbidden City. The real reason behind this is because the Empress Dowager refused to grant them greater access into her vast country for trade.
So, in truth, it is all driven by greed.
I recall a comment, I think it is from a book I read in 2021, The Story of China, by Michael Wood. That China, hugely proud of its 5,000-year civilisation, looks at things from a much wider and a much longer perspective. What other countries view as hostility, e.g., their claim of sovereignty over Taiwan; they see it as correcting past mistakes or injustice.
She never forgets. History has been a great teacher for her.
And she is not going to allow history to repeat itself.

A New Superpower
China was one of the founding members of BRICS about fifteen years ago. BRICS stands for Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, a group of emerging market countries that seek to deepen their economic ties. This year, it gained four new members: Iran, Egypt, Ethiopia, and the UAE, with more countries, the latest, Turkey, applying to join.
BRICS is seen as a counterweight to Western-led organisations like the EU, the G7 and even NATO, although it lacks formal structure, enforcement mechanisms, and uniform rules and standards.
Over the past decade, China has also been actively forging alliances with Russia and many other countries, while investing heavily in mega infrastructure projects in emerging nations with its Belt and Road initiative.
Its influence widened when the West weaponised the USD and the SWIFT settlement system against Russia and other continents because of the Ukraine and Israel/Hamas war. Just a few days ago, the Georgian government also announced measures which aligned them with Russia.
Nearer home, China is also flexing her muscle in the South China Sea, disrespecting the rulings of the International Arbitration Court, chasing fishermen in these countries out from their usual fishing grounds with gunboats, and building illegal military installations on reefs and small islands.
And this power race is extending to outer space as well.
One thing for sure, the world is seeing a massive movement and change in geopolitical power, with each jostling for dominance of land, sea, and sky, to even Mars and the moon! Of which, China, God has told us years ago, will become a key player.
God’s Own Superpower
God showed me on our trip to China this June – a series of pictures of 3 triangles flying and intersecting each other in a smooth flow and rhythm, without crashing into one another. He then told me that they are:
- His spiritual armoury in 3 high places
- Wealth gathering in 3 cities
- Watch towers in 3 places
Ha-ha, I thought, God has his own super power alliances and devices too. I believe many of these triangles are in place in various parts of the world that God has planted for the protection of His people.
A verse from the bible came to mind:
The human mind may devise many plans,
but it is the purpose of the LORD that will be established.
Proverbs 19:21 NRSV
But of course, God is the Super Power of them all.
