June 2024
During our trip to China last month, one of the wealth stewards shared this Chinese idiom with me:
兵马未动 ,粮草先行!
Meaning:
Before the troops move, fodder and provisions go first;
Logistics comes before military manoeuvres.
I am so thrilled with this guidance and confirmation. The caretakers have been sourcing some military food and other long lasting food and supplies for a while now. We brought samples with us to China and conducted taste tests with our Chinese members.
Recalling what V had shared with me many years ago: “There will be a day when ten men will grab hold of a Christian, crying out “Help us”, we aim to stock up enough for two or three more households besides our own; with the wealth stewards chipping in to help those in need. Besides that, the caretakers also assembled a backpack of emergency supplies for each household in Singapore, while we also stock up on additional groceries and supplies.
Although I sense the urgency, I pace myself as I go along, trusting that God will help me get it all done in good time. I just need to be focused and diligent about it, while fighting battles I get thrown into.
Update: September 2024
My storeroom is piling up while still awaiting more items that should come in before the end of the year. Shipment for the military food has been delayed for several months now due to supply chain issues and the wars. And just as I finished putting together this last batch of posts for the website, they arrived! All in His perfect timing.
Next on my list, before I hit the road again, is to declutter and to purchase whatever remaining items I may need to stock up, remembering what God had told me many years ago:“Take stock and stock up”
And, finally, I thought about whether I need to get my home fortified further, having been fixing and fixing so many things throughout the past 16 months. Maybe one last project and I am done. Phew!
Prayer
Lord, bless each and every one in our community who has heeded your call. We are thankful for your guidance and divine connections in getting hold of what we need. Help us finish everything we need to do expediently so that we can focus on the most important part of warfare – prayer, or getting down to pray. Amen.
