2025: Time for Offensive Warfare

December 2024

I decided to check out Apple TV on the plane on my way back from London. I remember Kelly mentioned something about Ted Lasso so I started watching it. I wasn’t too sure if I wanted to continue after I returned because the entire show is laden with expletives. Nonetheless, I felt compelled to continue and it was only in the last season that I discovered why.

It is about the triangles again!

The Triangle Mystery Continues
Completely unable to stem his English football team’s losing streak, Ted, their manager, was at a loss. Alone at a restaurant one night, he was mysteriously transported into a trance-like vision and a Voice started to speak to him. Guess what the Voice revealed to him?

The Power of the Triangle.

I was bemused.
V got my attention for sure.

The Voice told him that the triangle has special powers since ancient times – the Holy Trinity in Christianity, the Trikaya in Buddhism and the triangle with the eye on the US dollar bill. And for the Native Indian, it symbolises home. In 1989, an assistant coach for Chicago Bulls, Tex Winter, developed a very successful triangular offense strategy in football.

A triangular offense strategy!

That caught my attention.

Exponential Dynamics
In this strategy, a player always has two available teammates to whom he can pass the ball to – these three players form a triangle. So, it is dynamic, expanding without adding more players.

V: This is exponential dynamics and interconnected growth.

He demonstrated by showing two triangles joining at the one tip, moving actively together but also flying and moving in tandem where the Spirit leads them.

It was like the flying triangles he showed me a few months ago, but this time, they touch each other at times, and disconnect expediently to touch another triangle whenever there is a gap. So, the area or the space these triangles spread out to is bigger than before.

Total Warfare
Later in the show, Ted Lasso met up with the  coach to share what was revealed to him by the Voice with drawings of his own:

“The way I see it. We’ve been playing too rigid. Guys need freedom go wherever they want to go following their guts and their hearts as long as they remember to fill in the space that someone left behind. They got to have one another’s back for sure but you know it’s just constant nonstop movement, just going from position to position to position until position don’t really even exist anymore. It’s fast fluid, free, with full support.”

The coach was suitably impressed and told him this is called Total Football, which was actually invented in Holland in the 1970s.

I thought to myself: this sounds like what I teach the community about spiritual warfare!

In COBS 4D teaching on spiritual warfare, I noted that the weapons of the armour of God in Ephesians 6 are mostly defensive, so warfare is more about standing and watching until the Holy Spirit leads us into the offensive with the Sword of the Spirit.

I did a quick self-check for COBS. I was gratified that we tick almost all of the boxes. But there must be something more that V is telling me.

Has the time has come to be primarily offensive in spiritual warfare? Are we ready for it?

And boy, not only did V show me how Total Warfare works, but he wasted no time and put it to the test right away…
